Lions Roy and Bobbie Davis

Lions Roy and Bobbie Davis have transferred their membership into the Taneytown Lions Club from the Valley Club.

Lion Roy was born in North Carolina but his family moved to the Baltimore area when he was quite young, and then to Pleasant Valley. Upon graduating from Westminster H. S. he went to work at Diecraft, Inc., and later joined Worthington Pump (now Flowserve), where he worked in various capacities for 31 years before retiring He loves to tinker in his machine shop, working on models. He is an honorary member of the Pleasant Valley Fire Co.

Lion Barbara (better known as Bobbie) was born in Hanover, Pa. but grew up in Gist - near Westminster, where she became friends with Roy in elementary school. After graduation from Westminster H. S. and marrying Roy she worked a while at Rowan Controller as well as being a homemaker and mother to their son and daughter. She then went to work with H & R Block preparing tax returns for clients for 19 years before joining Lee Arbaugh in his accounting business. She retired from there three years ago. She also did seasonal work at Baugher's, where she still helps out some. She likes to read, doing some crafts, and gardening. She is active in the Pleasant Valley Fire Co. and Ladie's Auxiliary - handling the booking of the Social Hall there. Roy and Bobbie's two children are both married. They have one grandson.

Lion Roy was a charter member of the Valley Lions in 1980; served as President in 1996-97, 2002-03, and again in '07-'08. He served his club as secretary, lion tamer, and treasurer a number of times. He was Zone Chairman '98-'99 and was Pin Coordinator for District 22-W from 2007 - 2009. Bobbie joined the Valley Lions in October, 1999, served as director, secretary, treasurer, Vice President, and then as President just last year.

We rejoice in having the Davises as part of the Taneytown Lions.

Make them feel welcome!
